What Makes AGA Cookers Different?
Unlike conventional ovens that rely on forced air, AGA cookers use stored radiant heat within their cast-iron construction. This creates a stable cooking environment that enhances flavor, texture, and moisture retention.
- Radiant heat cooking for consistent results
- Separate ovens set at fixed temperatures
- No fan noise or air circulation
- Reduced food drying and flavour transfer
- Exceptional build quality and lifespan

What is an AGA cooker?
An AGA cooker is a cast iron range cooker that uses stored radiant heat rather than fan-assisted airflow. Each oven is designed to operate at a specific temperature for roasting, baking, simmering, or warming.
Are modern AGA cookers always on?
No. Modern AGA models feature programmable controls that allow individual ovens and hotplates to be turned on only when required, improving energy efficiency.
Are AGA cookers expensive to run?

Which AGA cooker is the most energy-efficient?
Electric models such as the AGA eR7 and AGA R3 Series are among the most efficient, as they allow precise control of ovens and hotplates.
Do AGA cookers heat the kitchen?
Heat-storage models emit background warmth, which many homeowners appreciate, particularly in cooler months. Controllable models reduce heat output when not in use.

- AGA eR7 and R7 Series
- AGA Dual Control and Total Control
- AGA R3 / eR3 Series

Are AGA cookers available with induction hobs?
Yes. Selected models, such as the AGA R3 Series and Masterchef ranges, include induction hob options for faster, more responsive cooking.
Do AGA cookers require professional installation?
Yes. Installation should be carried out by qualified professionals, especially for gas, dual-fuel, or heat-storage models.
Are AGA cookers suitable for small kitchens?
Yes. Compact models such as the AGA 60 are designed specifically for smaller spaces while retaining core AGA cooking functionality.
Is an AGA cooker right for my cooking style?
AGA cookers are ideal for people who cook regularly, prepare multiple dishes, or enjoy baking, roasting, and slow cooking. They are less suited to occasional or very time-sensitive cooking.
Can an AGA replace a conventional oven and hob?
